RadTech Resource Group released iRadTech v4.1 on Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2020.

Features of iRadTech v4.1:
– Revisions and updates to the position instructions, including suggested technical factors, image quality points and structures demonstrated.
– Search function that finds search term in position titles and instructions
– My Routines function that groups selected positions into a saved routine

If you are a current owner of iRadTech, your app will automatically be updated (or you will be notified that an update is available) at no additional cost.

Web content is also updated!

As of Dec. 28, 2020, the content delivered by this web site (you must “Sign Up” for a subscription) is the same as that in the v4.1 app just released!

The web site does not offer My Notes or My Routines, nor is it possible to save notes within each position as you can with the app, but the web site does have the Search capability – which is certainly useful!

Of course the main advantage to web-delivered content is that it is platform independent; you can get it on any device with a browser – phone, tablet or PC.

Note about suggested technical factors

Suggested technical factors are provided for each position (except nephrotomography). These technical factors suggest increasing the kVp from traditional film-screen settings to a higher kVp. This is generally judged to be more appropriate for digital imaging systems (both computed and direct digital) to reduce overall patient radiation exposure. The suggested techniques are judged appropriate for average sized adult patients using the equivalent of a 400-speed imaging system. These suggested techniques are not meant to replace any imaging department’s standard technique system and are NOT recommended for film-screen systems. For film-screen systems a lower kVp is generally more appropriate.

iRadTech – Buy once and load on multiple devices!

You can load iRadTech on all your devices of the same OS (Android vs. iOS) after purchasing just once.  You must be logged in to the store using the same account on both devices.  Then the store will know that you already bought the app, and will offer “Download” instead of “Buy”.  This is also true after purchasing iRadTech Chiro or iRadTech ESP.

Apple users – Please read the following article, Apple iPad users have two options for iRadTech, for details to make this work for you.

Apple iPad users have two options for iRadTech

1 – iRadTech HD, which is designed for the iPad only. It runs in landscape mode, and takes advantage of the larger screen size by displaying the menu, position instructions and position note simultaneously.

2 – iRadTech, which is designed for the iPhone but runs just fine on iPads. With iRadTech, you can have the app on both your iPad and your iPhone with just one purchase (provided you are logged in to Apple with the same account on both devices).

If you access the Apple app store on your iPad, it may show you only iRadTech HD because it knows you are on an iPad. You have to tell the store to show you iPhone apps in order to see iRadTech. Here is how:

1 – Open the app store
2 – Tap in the search box, type in iradtech and then tap Search
3 – Tap “Filters” in the top, left corner of the screen
4 – Tap “Supports” and tap “iPhone Only”

Now you can see iRadTech. If you already purchased it for your iPhone, you can load it on your iPad at no additional cost!

Search Tips

The iRadTech app has a new Search function! (iRadTech Mobile Web – the same content delivered as web pages from this website – already had it.)
Tap/click on the magnifying glass icon to begin a search.

Search will look for an exact character-by-character match of the search term. Capitalization, however, does not matter; “Patella” and “patella” will produce the same result.

Here’s a tip. You don’t have to enter the entire term you are searching for. Maybe you aren’t sure how to spell it. Does “patella” have one “l” or two? Entering “patel” will find patella. Odontoid? “odon” will find it.

Happy searching!
